Kimberly Reichel has been teaching at Sound Picture Recording
for four years. She was first introduced to piano at a young
age of four, starting lessons at the age of six. For the
past 12 years, Kim has been instructed by many teachers
and is currently being taught by Matthew Bonelli. She has
participated in FBA District Solo and Ensemble for the past
four years, receiving three 'Superior' ratings and one 'Excellent'
rating. In 2004, Kimberly also competed in State FBA Solo
and Ensemble, reaching an 'Excellent with Distinction' rating.
She also performs at events within the community, including
the Broward County Literary Fair at the Downtown Main Library.
After playing and teaching for several years, and through
the input of her own instructors, Kimberly understands what
each student needs in order to become a proficient piano
player.
Lessons include: note reading and recognition, rhythm reading
and understanding, scales, chords, playing songs, playing
different styles, personal music interpretation, theory,
and musical performance.
Kimberly has been playing saxophone for four years, first
studying with Anthony Lali. She has participated in Plantation
High School’s marching, concert, and jazz bands for
the past three years, and will continue to do so this year.
In school she has had many leadership positions because
of her abilities. As a sophomore in high school, she was
both saxophone section leader and woodwind captain, as a
junior, saxophone section leader and band captain, and this
year as a senior the drum major. In these bands, she has
become accomplished in several different styles of music,
and has had performance experience in each of them. In addition,
for the past two years Kim has been in the Area Honor Band.
In the 2004 FBA Solo and Ensemble, Kim was part of a saxophone
quintet, which scored the highest rating, a ‘Superior.’
With musical experience in piano from an early age, Kim
has taken that knowledge and applied it to the saxophone,
and would like to pass it to you!
